SOPRODA is seeking an experienced technical trainer specialising in poultry slaughter for a short-term assignment in Congo-Brazzaville, scheduled for late October 2026. The aim is to support the teams at a slaughterhouse in mastering broiler chicken slaughter operations, through on-the-job training.
This assignment is aimed at a professional with a good understanding of how a poultry slaughterhouse operates, capable of passing on their expertise to operators and supporting them in putting good working practices into action.
You will be working in a slaughterhouse equipped with new machinery, designed to process between 800 and 1,000 chickens per hour. The assignment will include, in particular, supporting the teams during the slaughter of a batch of 15,000 broiler chickens.
Beyond passing on technical knowledge, the aim will be to enable operators to become familiar with the equipment and to apply the procedures suited to the operation of the facility.
Your responsibilities as a Technical Slaughter Trainer
✔️ Train teams in slaughter techniques
You will teach operators best practice relating to the various stages of broiler chicken slaughter. The training will be primarily hands-on, to facilitate the learning and application of technical skills on the production line.
✔️ Strengthen hygiene, safety and quality practices
You will raise teams’ awareness of the need to comply with hygiene rules, operational safety and quality requirements throughout the process. You will also ensure that working procedures are correctly followed.
✔️ Support teams on the production line
You will work directly with operators during operations, particularly whilst a batch of 15,000 chickens is being slaughtered. Your role will be to observe working practices, correct techniques where necessary and help teams to better master the various stages of production.
✔️ Tailoring training to the slaughterhouse’s equipment
As the facility is equipped with new machinery and has a capacity of 800 to 1,000 chickens per hour, you will need to adapt your support to the equipment available, the teams’ skill levels and the operational constraints of the production line.
The ideal candidate
We are looking for a hands-on professional with proven experience in the technical management or supervision of a poultry slaughterhouse.
In particular, the candidate must:
✔️ Have technical experience in a poultry slaughterhouse, with a good understanding of broiler chicken slaughtering operations.
✔️ Have a thorough understanding of the various stages of the slaughter process and the associated best practices in terms of hygiene, safety and quality.
✔️ Be able to train operational teams, explain procedures clearly and support their implementation.
✔️ Be comfortable working on the front line, able to observe practices, identify areas for improvement and propose appropriate corrective measures.
✔️ Be available for an 8- to 10-day assignment in Congo-Brazzaville, scheduled for late October 2026, with a departure date to be arranged at short notice.
Conditions of the assignment
The mission will take place in Congo-Brazzaville over a period of 8 to 10 days at the end of October 2026. The departure will need to be organised promptly, given the planned schedule.
Flight tickets, accommodation and meals will be covered for the entire duration of the mission.
