SOPRODA is recruiting an experienced Poultry Production Manager to oversee a large-scale industrial poultry site in Africa. The site comprises several enclosed rearing buildings fitted with cage systems, an egg packing centre and a feed manufacturing unit.
This strategic role is aimed at a professional capable of overseeing all operations, coordinating several production units and ensuring the site’s technical and economic performance. Solid experience in laying hen farming, team management and poultry production in a tropical climate is essential.
Your responsibilities as Poultry Production Manager
✔️ Overseeing all poultry production
You will supervise rearing operations and ensure consistent production, compliance with technical targets and the correct application of procedures. You will also monitor biosecurity, poultry health and equipment maintenance to guarantee optimal operating conditions.
✔️ Coordinate the various units on site
As the site comprises several complementary activities, you will ensure effective coordination between the rearing houses, the egg packing centre and the feed production unit. Your role involves organising workflows, optimising the use of resources and ensuring consistency across all stages of production.
✔️ Monitor and improve technical and economic performance
You regularly analyse production indicators and financial results to identify variances, understand their causes and implement the necessary corrective measures. You are constantly seeking ways to improve productivity, control costs and enhance the farm’s overall performance.
✔️ Lead teams and structure the organisation
You will manage the operations managers and operational teams. You will set priorities, organise the work and ensure that procedures and targets are met. Your ability to motivate teams and establish a rigorous organisational structure will be essential to the smooth running of the site.
✔️ Supporting the site’s development
You identify opportunities to improve facilities and working methods. You contribute to the development of production capacity and the optimisation of existing resources, taking into account the site’s development objectives and local operational constraints.
The ideal candidate
✔️ Experience in laying hen farming
You have previously managed a flock of over 200,000 laying hens and are proficient in managing flocks in indoor housing equipped with cage systems. You have significant experience in the management or operational running of a poultry farm.
✔️ Expertise in integrated poultry production
You understand the interplay between rearing, egg packing and feed production. You are able to coordinate these various activities with a view to overall performance.
✔️ Management and leadership skills
You are able to lead large teams, organise day-to-day operations and monitor results using technical and economic indicators. You are able to make decisions, set priorities and implement corrective measures.
✔️ Knowledge of poultry farming in Africa
You have experience in Africa and are familiar with the specific challenges of poultry production in a tropical climate. You know how to adapt organisational structures, farming practices and facility monitoring to local conditions.
