From March 15 to 17, 2023, Abidjan hosted the 8th edition of the Journées Nationales de l’Aviculture (JNA), a key event for all poultry industry professionals in Côte d’Ivoire. Held at Latrille Events, in the commune of Cocody, the event brought together institutional players, private operators, producers and manufacturers, with a common objective: to strengthen food security through a high-performance, sustainable poultry industry.
An international forum for the promotion of poultry farming
The JNA has become an essential forum for exchanges between industry professionals, promoting poultry products and debating the major issues facing the sector. The central theme of this 8th edition, “The poultry industry’s contribution to food security in Côte d’Ivoire”, perfectly illustrates the challenges facing the Ivorian poultry industry, both economically and nutritionally. The poultry sector plays a major role in creating jobs, contributing to the national GDP, increasing the income of rural populations and providing quality food for the entire population.
Sidi Tiémoko TOURE, Minister of Animal and Fisheries Resources and patron of the ceremony, highlighted the strategic importance of poultry farming to the Ivorian economy. He recalled the progress made and the new strategic lines of development for the sector, underlining the importance of innovation and infrastructure modernization to guarantee the competitiveness of the local poultry industry.
