At Soproda, we work with our partner farmers to develop high-performance, sustainable poultry farming that respects animal welfare. We recently delivered five turnkey poultry buildings, complete with Big Dutchman equipment, to meet the needs of farmers in Martinique.
Organic Production in the Heart of the French West Indies
This project includes :
Three buildings for rearing organic layers : each building houses 3 000 laying hens, giving a total capacity of 9 000 birds, in compliance with European organic farming regulations (standard 1804/999). Equipped with Big Dutchman’s Natura Colony 2400 aviary system, these buildings offer easy access to feeders and nests, encourage the birds’ natural behaviour and guarantee regular egg-laying.
A dedicated pullet house : To ensure a smooth transition to the production phase, this building is dedicated to rearing pullets. Equipped with Natura Primus aviaries, it offers optimised density, a gradual introduction to the different areas of the building and significantly reduces stress during the transition to laying, helping the animals to adapt better to their future environment.
A high-performance conditioning centre : A 24 x 8-metre packing centre completes the facility, equipped with a state-of-the-art egg conveyor system comprising three 12-metre conveyors and a 65-metre main conveyor. This system ensures that eggs are transported continuously and smoothly, enabling up to 30,000 eggs to be processed per hour, keeping handling to a minimum and preserving egg quality right through to marketing.
Efficient tunnel ventilation : All the buildings have a tunnel ventilation system, combining static and dynamic modes, to ensure a uniform temperature in all circumstances. This system effectively reduces heat stress, promotes poultry health and optimises performance. Particularly suited to tropical climates, it is a major asset in ensuring ideal rearing conditions.
